Time to focus on the club competitions!

With the last county league match played, its now time to focus on the club competitions.

With only 12 games to play in Division 1, most could still win it and most could still get relegated!

With 19 games left in Division 2, at least half a dozen players are still contesting the promotion places.

Anyone with energy to spare can try their luck in the most competitive Open for years.

The “Game of the Year” competition will be run again.  Any club member can enter a game they have played in any form of classical chess over the season.  We have already seen some interesting (good, bad, comical, original, …?) entries from some but we have seen nothing from others.  Please use May to send something in – voting arrangements will be posted later.

As an example of competition play and best game entry, here is a nice little triumph of wisdom over youth, played in Division 2 on Thursday – apologies to both players, neither of whom have given me permission to publish it!
