Approaching the last few weeks of the season, both divisions are still finely balanced.
With only four games still to play in Division 1, the only thing decided is that Neil is doomed. Most other permutations are still possible:-
- Paul has now taken the lead and finishes his campaign with five draws and a win – he alone is safe from joining Neil and can win if others trip up.
- Mike currently holds the second relegation spot but would win the tournament if he wins his last two games and Alex doesn’t.
- Steve L can still be relegated but can win the tournament if he wins his last game and Raj drops points against Alex or Mike.
- Steve P needs to beat Mike to guarantee safety, a draw or worse leaves him relying on others for help.
- Alex has a tough last two games but would actually win the tournament if he won them both – loss of both would see him relying on Mike to trip up, to avoid the drop.
- Raj holds the key to the tournament now – the loss of his last two games (however unlikely!) could see him relegated but one and a half points or better would likely give him the title.
With thirteen games still to play in Division 2, John’s shock (?) win over Joe leaves the tournament wide open. The title looks like a four way fight between Joe, Gerry, Richard and Chris although the Richard-Joe encounter could be the decider.
