Bronstein was right!

As David Bronstein observed, “There is not a single true chess-player in the world whose heart does not beat faster at the mere sound of such long beloved and familiar words as ‘gambit games’ “.

This was certainly borne out by a most enjoyable evening for the fourteen players who attended the Gambits Summer Special last night.  Seven selected gambits were sampled, from the (relatively sedate) Evans, through the (suspect) Double Muzio  to the  (Absolutely Mad And Ridiculous?) AMAR.

The winning team were the “Backs to the wall” (you know who you are).  Many thanks to Steve Ledger for organising (and his brother for an interesting contribution).
