A sad story last night and I blame the rail service to Bedford! Peter G was delayed getting back from London and arrived when 35 minutes had expired on his clock, so LB claimed a default, as they are entitled to.
I had a strange game where I gifted a Knight early on, got a strong attack, won back the Knight and the exchange, but then went on to lose a Queen for a Bishop and Rook and shortly afterwards gave a Rook away – very poor. I think I could have played a couple of different moves when the attack was going well, but I haven’t played it over yet.
Nigel got a good draw and Peter H was all over his opponent and won early on.
Tony played a great game and had a clear win in hand, but misplayed it and ended up drawing, but a great result against a rated 125.
So a real tale of “could have been” against a team with average rating of 140!
