Fifteen hopefuls contested this prestigious tournament last Thursday. Despite being the second highest rated player and therefore heavily handicapped Richard Bodily scored a very respectable 5/6. George Griffiths predictably revelled in the quicklplay format scoring 6/8. However Rob Wilson, playing the bare minimum of 5 games, managed 4.5/5 to take the prize. He was the only player to avoid defeat, apart from young Oliver who is planning to join the junior club, who had to go after winning all 3 of his games!
