Confused by their captain’s instructions to avoid Europa League qualification, Bedford B disappointed in their final game of an otherwise successful season.
Steve proved that Rook endgames are always drawn, even when you have a small advantage, and Neil showed that they can be won, even when you’re getting battered! (see swindle – well worth a look although it should be said that Neil’s natural self-deprecation(?) disguises an outstanding 6/9 contribution to the team this season).
I am afraid I have no knowledge of the other games which we lost (please feel free to tell me someone, please…?) as I had to drive to Manchester immediately after my game for reasons too obscure to explain.

How on earth did Neil get away with that?
