This report is going to be light on detail, as my game got complicated later on so I only saw the early positions from the other games.
Mac lost a piece for a pawn early on, then fought on hoping for a miracle. We’ve all been there!
Nigel had a solid position, with both players having isolated Q-side pawns. He managed to win his opponent’s without losing his own, and finished it off from there.
Qais drew!
My game was wide open and messy. The computer shows me missing several tactical chances, whilst Colin took most of his. In the end neither of my queens could get back to stop his mating me.
Ben’s game looked fine, but by the time it got to a R+P endgame he was two pawns down. He tried hard to find a mate, before succumbing.
