… with a hastily drawn together team, Bedford D took a heavy defeat against Leighton Buzzard B.
- On board one Neil played a sharp game, but fell against a strong opponent.
- Board 2 saw John playing his favoured Black pieces, but a new attack against this season’s system proved to be his downfall
- I came out of the opening optimistic, with a queen for a rook, but as the game drew on, and my team-mates fell around me, my resolve buckled and I took a draw
- Jeremy felt he was up for most of the game, but failed to press the advantage, lost a few pawns, and the game
- Tony played well, but followed the trend of his team-mates and failed to gain a point
4.5-0.5 – A low point certainly, and a blow after the points of the last match, but we’ll get there.
