Bedford C share the spoils

Probably a fair result, despite OU changing their logical board order on 2 and 3. The two team gradings on average were more or less balanced. Nigel finished a nice game with an early win and Peter H followed soon after with a tidy draw. I (Gerry) had a reasonably even position for most of the game, but tried to get more than position warranted, resulting in a lost pawn. I went on to lose the Rook and Pawn end-game, proving that a single pawn is all it takes! Joe had a complicated game which resulted in a nice win, leaving the match result in Peter G’s hands. Unfortunately, Peter had given a pawn away early in the game (his words) and was unable to hold the game in the end. So a decent match draw sets the C team back on the road in 2016.OU v Bed C

  1. Steve’s incredible emptying d-file is very interesting – its one of the themes of my new book, which has replaced “Fisher’s 60 Memorable Games” in my affections, “Move First, Think Later”.
