Bedfordshire disappointed against both Norfolk and Cambridgeshire in the county double-header at Newmarket on Sunday 18th January. Winning only two games all day, they lost heavily in the 16 board matches.
The one bright spot from Bedford’s perspective was Steve Ledger’s performance on board 2, winning in the morning (see game) and drawing in the afternoon. Steve Pike and Mike Botteley did significantly less well, scoring ½/2 on board 5 and 0/2 on board 9, respectively.
