… appear to have been defeated by my pack – that’s my Queen (dalmatian facing the wrong way) on g7 just delivering mate to the King (alsatian) on g5 – Yoko’s 2.. N(Bulldog?)g8 in the Nimzowitsch Defence seemed ill-judged to me (or maybe it’s just all the liquids I’m having to imbibe in this warm weather).
As Jan Gustafsson asserted in his commentary from Dortmund today, “.. she tried to ruin the Beatles, now she’s trying to ruin chess!”.
Inclined to agree with Gustafsson on that one. btw I met him a few times, very nice guy but very heavy smoker.
No more liquids for you – the trebled Dogs on the g-file show that this must clearly be a version of the well-known Hound Gambit, which has always given problems for White over the years, as indicated by White’s dalmation not really knowing in which direction to move. At least the board is the right way round.
Of course the board is the right way round, it’s a real game !? The bulldog on g3 is forking the labradors and the daschund on g4 is well advanced for the endgame, but I would agree that the alsatian on g5 has perhaps advanced prematurely.
